A Vision of Reconciliation

In these challenging times of environmental crisis and alienation, anger about the past, and fear for our future, we are profoundly fortunate to have a path back to kindness, to friendship, and ultimately, to peace. It is an ancient path that begins with our innate curiosity about our own mind; it is a journey, that always relies on a staff of kindness.

With the Buddha’s teachings as our guide, together, we can follow this path of reconciliation within ourselves, with each other, and with the world.

Prayer Requests

In Asia, the home of Buddhism for over two thousand years, it is traditional for people to make prayer requests to the ordained sangha, the monks and nuns of the monasteries. When a great aspiration is made, when someone is ill, or when someone dies, people often sponsor prayers by the monastics.

In the West, Buddhism primarily arises as a lay practice and there are few monasteries. Here, we are all the sangha, the community of those on a path towards compassion and wisdom. Therefore, we would like to ask all who read this to take on the responsibility and gift of offering prayers to others in need.

Lineage

“The qualification of a spiritual mentor is that he possesses the lineage.”

— Naropa

It is believed that these ancient words date back a thousand years ago to Naropa, one of the most renowned Buddhist masters of all time.

Why is this important?

Because it confirms the unbroken connection back to the Buddha. And because it is the basis of the deep trust that is fundamental to the student-teacher relationship.

Support our community

In seeking to offer reconciliation to a world whose heart is breaking, we take on great aspirations. This will take much time and the efforts of many, and so…

We ask you to consider joining our work.

We’re looking for people to help make this happen. If this aspiration touches you, please reach out and tell us of your interest. Get in touch at Blossoms at dharma-blossoms.org or lama-dorje at dharma-blossoms.org.

We are very happy to receive any kind of support to make this project become reality. The building of a stupa, a community, and a practice center needs hands-on support, a growing community, as well as monetary aid.

If you are able to support us financially, we welcome donations to help make our activities blossom. Every contribution, small to large, is a precious step of our shared journey.

🙏
